  • Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Forest and children of Rock Hill, SC visited Mrs. Pearl Hanners, Mrs. Lena Caldwell and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Forest.
  • Mr. and Mrs. Walter Knigthen hav gone to Decatur for a few days and plan to go from there to Fort Worth, Tex. to see relatives for the second week of their vacation.
  • Mrs. H. C. Bennefield and daughter Mrs. Ann Stephens and Allen are in Roanoke for several days.
  • Mrs. Vivian Wilson and family visited relatives in Tallasee [sic] for a few days.
  • Mrs. Lorene Taylor and Christine are spending a few days in Birmingham with relatives.
  • Mr. and Mrs. Woodie Forest and daughter Mrs. Ophelia Sizemore spent several days in Pensacola with relatives.
  • Tyril Jones is spending the summer with his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Bean of Wedowee.
  • Mr. and Mrs. Warner Roberson will spend a few days with their son Elgin and family of Clayton, Ala.
  • Mr. and Mrs. Guy Vickers have visited their son Mickey and family of Birmingham and Mrs. Vickers’ mother, Mrs. D. J. Goss of Alexander City.
  • Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Bowen spent some of their vacation with her father, J. P. Martin near Millerville.
  • Marion Milam and Alves Weldon had a nice catch fishing in the Coosa River. They caught 27 pounds of catfish this week.
  • Mrs. Ellie Gaither and Mrs. Judy Holmes and Mike are visiting in Mt. Vernon, Fla., for a few days. Max Gaither will go by there and he and Mrs. Gaither will go on to Daytona on vacation.
  • Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Baily are spending their vacation in Valparaiso, Fla.
  • Mr. and Mrs. George Shaw had as their guests Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kirkland and children of Melbourne, Fla., this week; also Stanley Butler who was on his way to Las Vegas to be with his brother, A. J. Butler.
  • Mrs. Estelle Williams has visited her mother-in-law, Mrs. W. J. Williams of Sylacauga, who is improving and resting better.
  • Mrs. Frank Shaddix will have two weeks’ vacation from the G.E. plant.
  • Mr. and Mrs. Chester Howard of Chicago and mother Mrs. Nina Howard and Cathy Johnson of Summerville, Ga., have been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Howard this week.
  • Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Patjens have been visiting their daughter Mrs. Billy Cooley and family of Ara this week.
  • Mr. and Mrs. Oakley Patterson went on vacation to the Smokey Mountains.
  • Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Nixon and family have gone to be with their daughter, Mrs. Gerald Day, and family of Fayettville, SC.
  • Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Kidd are attending the National Educational Association in Atlantic City, NJ. Mrs. Archie Patterson, her mother, is keeping the children, Marilyn, Debbie and M. L. Jr.
  • Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Hosey of Anniston had surgery at Citizens Hospital on Thursday.
  • Mrs. L. F. McCarley underwent surgery on her hand Thursday.
  • Mr. and Mrs. J. B. White had a reunion of the White family at their home on Sunday with a large number of out-of-state relatives present.
  • Pat and Kitty Hughston of Mobile and Carol Coleman of Birmingham have spent the week with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Hughston.
  • Mr. and Mrs. O. W. White and Wendell spent a few days with their son, Winnon White and family in Biloxi, Miss., and their daughter, Mrs. Bill Kornegay and family of Oneonta.
  • Anna Charlene Baker of Birmingham is visiting her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Baker.
  • Mrs. A. M. Patterson, Dot and Mickey of Ashland have been visiting the Clyde Mitchells.
  • Mr. and Mrs. John Farris and son are spending their vacation in Panama City.
  • Sunrise County, winner of the Juvenile Stakes at Aqueduct, was purchased by Townsend B. Martin for $34,000 at the Keeneland, Ky. yearling sales last summer.
