Talladega, Ala., March 30

  • Rev. G.B. Ward, presiding elder, held his second quarterly conference at Lane’s Chapel C.M.E. church Sunday
  • Mr. Butler leaves for Pittsburg, Pa., Monday
  • Rev. J.h. Martin made a flying trip to Birmingham last week
  • The Congregational churches of the state are holding their annual association in Montgomery
  • President Sumner and Professor Sheldon go from the college and Rev. C.L. Miller and S.O.B. Johnson, Mrs. Frank Crunkshantk and Mrs. E.R. Johnson from churches.  Rev. Aladabi Johnson, our African student, also attends Miss Juliette Derriatte represents the Sunday school. 
  • The college baseball team are off for a scheduel of games in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana
  • Work will soon be begun on a new brick school house.  I will be a $10,ooo structure.  The college donated the land. 
  • The members of the Boys’ club had a fine time at the home of Mrs. F. Cruixshank Monday night
  • The Y.W.C.A. rendered an excellent play Friday night at the college chapel
  • The children of the C.M.E. church are preparing to render a fine Easter exercise. 
  • George L. Knox is able to be out again and we are glad
  • Mr. Easily, the grocer, is doing a larger business now.
